Captain Wilderness

Ok, I have a slight confession to make. I dont actually live in Philadelphia. We are actually within walking distance of the Northeast Philadelphia border. So, Im not in the "City" itself, but Philly Transplant, a) sounds so much better and b) when I started this thing we were in Philadelphia.

Anyway, since we are right outside Philly, it is almost like we are in the wilds of the wilderness. I am not exactly the outdoorsy type. Ive never gone camping, even in my back yard. If I wanted to sleep under the stars, I would get some of those glow in the dark stars. You won't find any granola in our cupboard.

So, as the woods in our town continues to shrink, I am noticing more and more of our furry friends getting closer to my front door. So there I am visiting with Joe Camel, when I see a little snake, no big deal, but still a snake. Then next night, its 3 not so blind mice who have decided to build a home in the dirt of our garden. I just know as things get colder those little ba*&*%ds are going to try to get into the house. And the feline takes after her dad, shes not much of a hunter.

Now here is the icing on the cake. Outside this morning and the bushes start to shake and rumble not two feet away from me. Hey, there goes Mr. Groundhog. He or she is bigger then my cat, heck he may be bigger then Mrs. Duck!! Next time I see him, I think I am going to chase him down and ask him for my Lottery Tickets

So, all of the sudden, I feel like a country boy, I hate feeling like a country boy.

Blind Path to 9/11

I am so glad that I was one of the millions of people who watched the Giants and the Colts instead of this garbage. ABC 9/11 Docudrama's Right-Wing Roots - Yahoo! News

Family Guy Funnie

Lois Griffin after having a dream about taking Stewie and running him through the washing machine.

"My god, Im just like that woman in Texas who gave her son brain damage by holding him under water. Oh my God!! Im Barbara Bush!!"

9/10/06

15 years in Uniondale??

Now, Lord knows I am not a hockey guy. I watch the playoffs, and usually when its game 5 thru 7. But, I would think it is a bad idea to sign anyone to a 15 year contract!!! 15 years? In one place? And the place is not even Los Angeles or Phoenix where the weather is beautiful. No, its Long Island. Unless your living in the Hamptons, Long Island isn't that special is it.

On the company side of things. What in the world does that do to your salary cap??

Still Remember

I have been racking my brain to figure out what I can put down here for today. I hope these work.

The Rising

Cant see nothin in front of me
Cant see nothin coming up behind
I make my way through this darkness
I cant feel nothing but this chain that binds me
Lost track of how far Ive gone
How far Ive gone, how high Ive climbed
On my backs a sixty pound stone
On my shoulder a half mile of line

Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight

Left the house this morning
Bells ringing filled the air
Wearin the cross of my calling
On wheels of fire I come rollin down here

Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight

Li,li, li,li,li,li, li,li,li

Theres spirits above and behind me
Faces gone black, eyes burnin bright
May their precious blood bind me
Lord, as I stand before your fiery light

Li,li, li,li,li,li, li,li,li

I see you mary in the garden
In the garden of a thousand sighs
Theres holy pictures of our children
Dancin in a sky filled with light
May I feel your arms around me
May I feel your blood mix with mine
A dream of life comes to me
Like a catfish dancin on the end of my line

Sky of blackness and sorrow ( a dream of life)
Sky of love, sky of tears (a dream of life)
Sky of glory and sadness ( a dream of life)
Sky of mercy, sky of fear ( a dream of life)
Sky of memory and shadow ( a dream of life)
Your burnin wind fills my arms tonight
Sky of longing and emptiness (a dream of life)
Sky of fullness, sky of blessed life

Come on up for the rising
Come on up, lay your hands in mine
Come on up for the rising
Come on up for the rising tonight

*******************************************************************

Into the Fire

The sky was falling and streaked with blood
I heard you calling me, then you disappeared into the dust
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

You gave your love to see, in fields of red and autumn brown
You gave your love to me and lay your young body down
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need you near, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

It was dark, too dark to see, you held me in the light you gave
You lay your hand on me
Then walked into the darkness of your smoky grave
Up the stairs, into the fire
Up the stairs, into the fire
I need your kiss, but love and duty called you someplace higher
Somewhere up the stairs, into the fire

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your strength give us strength
May your faith give us faith
May your hope give us hope
May your love give us love

May your love bring us love

CFB post-Alabama 13, Vandy 10

I would hope to say that Vanderbilt has improved as a program, but, last year was one of the best years they have had in 30 years, so you would think they might have a downturn this year. So this score with only a minute to go just says that Alabama sucks!

CFB Post-Iowa vs Syracuse

How desperate for sports do you have to be to watch Iowa vs Syracuse?? Thank you DirecTV

Think NCST wants there Money Back?

Akron 20
NC State 17

After an 80 yard drive put together by the Wolfpack, the Zips promptly drive 70 yards the other way to score on a goal line dive with no time left. The Wolfpack fans react with the typical class of hillbillies and promptly begin flinging things on the field. Its your AD's fault, if your gonna pay for a patsy to come and play you, make sure its William and Mary, or Illinois and not an up and comer like Akron.

CFB Post-NCST 10, Akron 14

This game is going to be one of those games that whoever scores last will win, though I would think if I had to win a game, I would go with the Akron QB over the Wolfpack one.

And if you were wondering whatever happened to BRIAN KINCHEN, TE from LSU in the 90's, he's working for ESPNU now. Though apparently he has also found god as well as Raleigh, NC.

OOps another bad snap. Maybe Stone should take time on the sideline to introuduce himself to Leroy Harris, his CENTER.

gee a wannabee??

I am nerdier than 35% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Off football sort of

Another fun meme. I came across it twice actually, so I figured that might be a sign. Thanks to Kailani of pinkdiary808.com who originally I found because its a good hawaiian name, and now I will continue it onward. If you want to join in, just leave me a link, once i give ya the words of course, duh!

CFB Post-NCST 10, Akron 7

Good God finally, the wolfpack comes through and gets the go ahead score, 5 minutes into the fourth quarter!! The best recovery was after the center snapped the ball over the Pack's QB's head, RB saved the drive with quick thinking. Though I still cant get why ESPNU's cameras actually make it feel like your watching the game from the parking lot.

CFB Post-Akron 7, NCST 0

You can tell its a bad weekend for football, when out of the 1st set of games, the Akron vs NC State game is the only one that is watchable. How quickly will Chuck Amato get fired if they end up losing this game??? 3rd Quarter, by the way.

CFB Post-Louisville 42, Temple 0

I am so happy I saved myself the $18.00 by not going down to this game at the Linc. More beer for me!

CFB Post-Mizzou 10 Ole Miss 0

How scary is it that your a kicker, so your already low on the football team totem pole, and you came to the school on a DIVING Scholarship. And we are not talking about a Florida or California school, but Missouri. Meet Jeff Wolfert

CFB Post-Rutgers 27, Illnois 0

Ray Rice is more the man of this Scarlet Knights offense then Brian Leonard is. Its amazing how a teams fortune can change because a coach gets fired, so as a High School senior you sign someplace else. Greg Schiano should be sending gift baskets to Syracuse once a month. This game is over, Illnois has a freshman QB in now, and has not won on the road since 2002.

CFB Post-Louisville 7, Temple 0 1st Q

The good news, the station covering the game out of Louisville has lost its sound, so you can not really hear how empty Lincoln Financial field is.

The bad news, I can count the number of fans in the stadium with some simple arithmetic. How far has Temple fallen, sheesh!

CFB Post 1-Rutgers 14, IIllnois 0

Watching the game on ESPN2 and right now what I can say is that I have no idea how good the Rutgers offense really is. I can say Illnois has absolutely no offensive line, since the QB has had happy feet all 1st quarter and Rutgers 2 scores were off a blocked punt and an interception. Ron Zook eh??

8.Preston and Steve Podcast (8/10/06)-Preston & Steve-WMMR
9.Canadian National Anthem-Sara McLachlan
10.Don't Lie-Black Eyed Peas-Monkey Business

Favorite Song-Yesterday by the Beatles. One of the most perfectly, beautifully written songs, by of course a classic band. No matter how many times he gets into bed with a one legged woman, Paul can still sing when he has to

Least Favorite Song
-Into the Feeling. Honestly, I do not even know how this song ended up on the Ipod. I think Mrs. Duck was practicing before she got her lovely pink one. I dont even know what this song sounds like.

Saw Live-Sara McLachlan. We saw the Glimmerball tour in Atlantic City, at a lovely small venue of only about 8000 people or so. She closed with this version of Solisbury Hill, which I found some days later and it still brings a smile to my face.

Odd Notes-1.The Ipod must have been on some sort of Maple Leaf/Lilith Fair kick, with all the Sara McLachlan stuff

2.The song from Drumline really gets you in the mood for football

3.If you dont know who Preston and Steve are, check them out at WMMR you may not miss Howard Stern anymore.

Your 2006-2007 Blue Ducks

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Playing in the Jeans & T-Shirt division of the Woodstock league, please give a warm welcome to your starting lineup!!! (insert fake crowd noise here)

At QB from Seattle and Boston College-Matt Hasselbeck

at RB's, a New Orleans Favorite Son, from Atlanta, Warrick Dunn & out of Virginia Tech and playing under a new offensive coordinator, Kevin Jones.

At wideouts, still suffering from a slight hamstring pull, from Pittsburgh, Hines Ward. His running mate, also an ex-quarterback, Anquan Boldin.Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Your Tight End, Heath Miller

And possibly the most important player, you know him, you love him, Josh Scobee at kicker.

The defense is The NY Giants

Possibly starting for Hines Ward is Ernie Wilford. The rest of the reserves are Marc Bulger, sentimental pick Brett Favre, RB of SF, Frank Gore, the banged up rookie Lawrence Maroney, return specialist, DeAngelo Williams, Wideout Mark Clayton, of Baltimore, not the old Mark Clayton who was catching passes from Dan Marino. Last but not least, Braylon Edwards, still rehabbing from a knee injury.

There you have it, your 2006-2007 Blue Ducks! If anyone has an opinions on who I should start, let me know, since I am still in a quandry at WR.

Ok, I hardly ever comment on Tennis, mostly because I do not care. Ok, I care about what Maria Sharapova is wearing, and when Kournikova's new calendaris coming out,Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting but last night I was again up until 1 AM transfixed by a man as old as Mrs. Duck running another youngster off. Last Hottie of August-Angela Keathley

Ok, so she is not really an unknown hottie. She is a member of the dynamic duo of cheerleaders that was caught in that bar in Tampa, um hmm, checking the oil. Though really, I dont know why in the world this poor darling would have been fired. She was not the one that did the punching, Angela was just an innocent "toilet" stander. And, I blame the Hollywood for this whole thing anyway, since its obvious that the two Topcats were just trying to live up to the image of cheerleaders portrayed in The Replacements

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Thanks to Deadspin.com for reminding me of this story. I went back in time and checked out both culprits and honestly, I dont get why some people say she has a "butter" face. When I was single, I would not have kicked her out of bed for eating crackers.

Oh and here's a recap of the story

A-Fraud

Is my favorite nickname from this article about A-Rod. Though I often find myself turning to the Village Voice for my sports information. I do that as often as I go to my cat for stock market information!

Violent Night

We had a seriously violent night here in the Delaware Valley last night and it just continues to show how the Mayor and City Council is doing absolutely nothing to stop it. I also think that some of it, especially the strange almost drive by shootings, is definetly gang related. One of the latin gangs is already overruning Trenton and Camden, and there have been rumors of the Crips as well. In the end, its really just very very scary, because its creeping closer to Center City itself, and also sliding out into the Great Northeast, which is supposed to be the safest place.

One of the interesting or humorous things is the fact that some of these neighborhoods who have the worst violence have the cutest names. How bad does a place called Strawberry Mansion sound?

Wheres Chuck Woolery when I need him?

So, when I am not cruising craigslist or careerbuilder to try and find some employment, or doing my research for my fantasy football leagues, my brain tends to wander. What should I make for dinner? How quickly can it go from a drought to a flood? Does George Bush really not care about black people? On one of those flights of fancy, I fettered off into some matchmaking. I came up with a brilliant match actually. Right wingers need love to don't they?

So, a duo that could produce some really lovely and angelic children, blonde hair, blue eyes, god fearing children who curse and yell at you if you disagree with them at all. Oh, and are big for giving the finger when they are jeered. Anyway, a perfect combo would be Ann Coulter and the stuffy Christopher Hitchens. Think of it, the children would be ones that David Duke would drool over. So Aryan and Aristocratic all at the same time. Though you do hope for there sake that they pick up on there father's accent, makes the junk they would spew go down all the smoother.

Hottie of the Week-Sasha Cohen

She is actually kind of forgotten to me until I stumbled across her again. I guess you do lose track of skaters in the summer months but Sasha Cohen does strike me as a girl you would find on Charmed, if she could, ya know, act

Holiday Nuisance

One of the biggest pains in the arse when it comes to the holidays came up for Mrs Duck recently. First off, I have to say, its a bit early for everyone to be figuring out when they will be taking off for Christmas and New Years, but thats another story. Anyway, one of her coworkers always takes the entire week between Xmas and New Years off, as well as the day after New Years. Its great to ask for, but if you are in a work place that only on person can have off at a time for the holidays its quite unfair. And her reasoning, which is a reasoning that has always driven me mad, she has children and grandchildren.

And there in lies the rub actually. What is so special about the fact that some of us have children that they should expect to have the holidays off. I have a family someplace else and a family here, and I sure would like to spend time with them over the holidays. Just because your Momma or Grandpoppy doesnt mean Christmas is your time!

I told Mrs Duck to stand up for herself, to be sure to at least get the day after New Years off, just to make the her coworker have to come back, because in the end I just think its quite unfair!

Who said the Mandolin was wimpy??

So Im sitting here watching some VH1 Classic and who pops up but The Hooters one of Philadelphia's least appreciated bands. Looking at the video in comparison to the website, they have not aged too well, but it still is amazing how many great songs that first album had!

Give me a home??

This happened last week, but im just getting to it now, sue me! Loose buffalo bring ‘Old West’ to Cowpath Road | Intelligencer If nothing else it was a great work excuse. "Yea Mr Finley, I was late because of a Buffalo Stampede"

Citizen Bank Tiger

Ok, its a tricky title to the post, but would you honestly read a post that was titled the "Last Few Days"? I think not.

So, its been a busy few days actually. First was the trip, well two trips to Citizens Bank Park to watch the Phillies and the Mets. The first game was actually a speedy one, though with Jon Lieber and Tom Glavine pitching, I should not have been to surprised. The seats were great, and the game was just over two hours. Thanks Red for getting them.

The second day, was hot as all hell! Subway and I actually took the Subway, a totally different experience when it comes to Philadelphia, as opposed to New York. Its actually clean and there was room to sit. Plus, no homeless, though I can understand that one since it was hot and humid down there, probably safer on the street itself. A pleasant surprise on this visit was Bull's BBQ. Highly, Highly recommended!! The BBQ sauce actually tasted like something you would have down in Virginia or North Carolina, though now I am sorry I did not try the kielbasa sandwich. After catching up with the Father in Law and watching the Mets bomb the Phils in the sweltering heat, a shower and some relaxation was so needed.

Next stop was Champs Sports Bar. One word:overrated! Fox & Hound Restaurant is 10 times better, with better food and sightlines. Plus it was just for some exhibition football, how much fun can that really be?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Over the weekend, it was golf and more golf. I have to say, Tiger Woods is a phenomal player, probably the best that I will ever see. However, watching him is becoming dull. I still want to see him have to comeback and win a championship, something he still has not done yet, just ask Ben Curtis! In my own foibles on the golf course, I have to say there was good news as well as bad news. The good news, I shaved off 22 strokes from the last time I played. The bad, you say? Well it was still a 135 and I pulled some rib muscles in the process. Now I can surely say why its amazing that Nascar drivers do all that racing with rib and chest injuries. I thought I might curl up into the fetal position just making a simple left turn!

This weeks little, well sorta known hottie Lauren Houck

Lauren Houck, who I actually remember back from some of those FHM pictures with her friend in the shower, just seems to get better and better as time goes along. Enjoy.

Icky Shuffle

Titled in honor of the fast approaching and always damned exciting football season. But, I digress, here we go with Friday's 10.

1.Come & Talk to Me-Jodeci (U&I)
2.Mystery-Indigo Girls (swamp ophelia)
3.People Get Ready-Alicia Keys (Glory Road Sdtrk)
4.Ave Maria-Perry Como (Twas the Night Before Christmas)
5.Gin & Juice-Sublime (cover bootleg)
6.All I ever Wanted-Jim Brickman
7.University of Delaware Fight Song
8.Existentialism on Prom Night-Straylight Run (MTV Live)
9.Seein Red-Unwritten Law (Elva)
10.All I want is You-U2 (Rattle & Hum/Reality Bites Sdtrk)

Favorite Song:Existenialism on Prom Night-A beautifully written song, very light on othe music beyond a piano, except it builds as the song goes along it something more, with the cathartic chorus at the end. the perfect song for teen angst

Least Favorite Song-All I ever wanted. Yea, I dont think I have ever listened to the song all the way from start to finish, so I dont even know why its there.

Favorite Album-Since theres not many albums really listed, alot of these songs were bootlegs or single releases, I would go with Rattle & Hum, by a hair over Swamp Ophelia. Just skip the songs that The Edge sings.

Saw Live-Indigo Girls (1992) U2 (2006) & the University of Delaware Marching Band (1991-1995)

The Clarett story gets weirder and weirder

Maurice Clarett was a brillant college football player, especially for the size he was. But, after his brillant freshman season, he made many many mistakes, that derailed the chances of a professional career. Now while I do throw a small percentage of blame on the NCAA, because there rules are so arcane, especially for an organization that takes in money hand over fist and still claims to have the atheletes best interest at heart, most of the blame does fall on Clarett, just because he did not mix with the right kind of people from day one. Anytime I would have heard that Suge Knight is involved, I think I might have steered clear as opposed to gotten entangled with him and some of his "interesting" friends.

Vegas billboards part 2

oh yea and this is the blog for the picture Baby Girl found That Girl Emily

And you thought the Vegas Billboards were funny

Though somehow, for "Steven" I doubt that this was hilarious. Baby Girl found this picture and blog, and I for one am looking forward to some interesting reading today. It gives a peek into a womans psyche, plus, makes me count my blessings for Mrs Duck. I wouldnt have to go through all this humiliation, if I was this stupid. I just think I would be dead, BIL Duck is licensed to carry fire arms.

I hate McAfee

Though, I am sure my tirade is not going to send the stock crashing downward into some sort of spiral. I dont see CNBC posting headlines "Dow Tumbles on comments from a Blog" But, nevermind that! I really really think the McAfee and there Virus scan product is just a scam. All it does is suck up memory on my computer. Oh, and the amazingly annoying update your program now pop up items. Those are really really special. Now, I could be having one of those paranoid moments, but I swear, its just Bill Gates trying to figure out how many times I visit ESPN.com or Amazonwomenwholiftthings.com. I need to find a new virus program. I have already fallen in love with Firefox, and the next step to break away from the hold of "the man" will be replacing McAfee. Whose with me!!!!

Hilarious neigbors

blog.myspace.com/tristarista

Ok I have no idea if this is true or not, but I found this to be utterly hilarious. And just in case some of you dont have access to Myspace, heres the blog, chomped from Trista.

Today I met the person who lives directly behind me in my building. We share our bedroom walls, actually. Why is this important to you? Just let me tell my story, okay?

I have not been the most social neighbor since I moved into my building a year and a half ago. In fact, I have not socialized at all. Sure, I have exchanged niceties with a few people, especially the ones I see every day. But no lifelong bonds have been made here. So anyhow, yes, I finally met the person who lives in the apartment behind mine. Since our entrances are nowhere near each other we had not crossed paths. But today I was in the office of the building and it just so happened that she was too.

I had finished my business with the building manager and was leaving. She came out behind me. The following is our conversation, I am in red, she is in blue.

"You live in 50-1407?"

"Uh huh?" (Who is this chick and why is she following me?)

"I live right behind you, 50-1412."

"Oh, hey. How are you?" (Okay, what did I do?)

"Yeah, DIRECTLY behind you. Like we share a bedroom wall."

"Ummm...okay, cool..." (Okay, what the hell??)

"Yeah, my husband and I hear you sometimes..."

"..."(Oh fuck!)

"We hear you a lot, actually."

"Oh! Shit! Im sorry, shit. I...uhhh..." (Would it be bad to just run?!)

"No, dont be! This is going to sound so weird, but I have to say it. We, well, we owe you a lot."

"Owe me?" (Please don't tell me they taped me or something. Oh god! I wonder if the complained and got rent knocked off. I bet the entire building knows...50-1407, that's the loud sex girl!)

"This is so embarrassing, but heck, I am just gonna say it. Our sex life had pretty much disappeared. We did it a couple times a month still, but it was real boring. Then one night we were laying in bed and we heard you, well, going at it. We didn't know what it was at first, just a lot of banging noises. So we started listening harder and heard you shout out and stuff. Before I knew what was happening we were getting it on too! And it was good too!"

"Errr...oh...my..." (Oh my god!I am having threesomes...through a wall!)

"Oh geez I am embarrassing you, huh? I just wanted to thank you, cuz you know, we have more sex now, it's like sometimes we can hear you and it reminds us or something..and ummm..."

"Weellll...great! Err..keep up the good work!" (Keep up the good work? What are you saying, Trista?? )

"I am so excited that I got to see what you look like. We had a feeling you'd be pretty! My husband will be so excited!"

"Aww, thanks Listen, I gotta run, I am late, but it was nice to...meet you..." (Your husband will be excited?? Why? Oh god...please dont ask for my number!)

"Okay, well, see you around! I'm Lynn by the way."

"Okay, bye!" (Screw it, I am running...I did say I was in a hurry...)

So that was my morning! Am I still going to have loud, enthusiastic sex in my bedroom? Yes, yes I am. But this is yet another reason why I am glad to be moving out of this building at the end of this month...

Friday Adventures

Last night was my first trip to what is apparently an old stand by in the NE Philadelphia area, Curran's Irish Inn. Though I still cant totally figure out why, since the drinks, while free were watered down terribly, the sandwiches for Happy Hour were 3 days old or at least tasted like it and the music was too loud. I would reccomend the place if you won a free Happy Hour, since you could probably get a very good buzz going on $20. But, unless you are looking to meet a biker chick or some sort of tattoo artist, steer clear. Yes Im a Happy Hour snob, I grew up at the Shore!

A positive was the visit to Chink's on Torresdale. In my opinion, easily the best CheeseSteaks in Philadelphia. They really make Geno's and Pat's look silly in comparision, plus no gastrointestimal issues later on! Plus the only place I can find a Chocolate Coke.

Spice, this weeks unknown hottie

Showing my age here, but I still remember this girl from 10 years ago. Goes to show even when I was younger, I had a type.Sugar & Spice enjoy!

Cheating not cheating ?

Well, I am going to do this one backwards, since you could see my comments before checking out the post at The Book Bitches but it does show an interesting divide between men and women.

1.Flirting on the internet-not cheating if it is done once in a while to be funny or cute. Its just like flirting in person, once in a while is just being human, flirting often is the onramp to the cheating highway.

2.cybersex-most definetly cheating, though not an end the relationship offense.

3.Kissing-yep, very very cheating. With caveats of course, since there are some relationships that are open enough to allow this.

4.Porn/Masturbating-NO way! both are natural things, and damn needed sometimes

5.Emotional Affair-hard to have a definitive answer to this one. I have girls who I know online only. They are friends, and we support each other from time to time. I would be hurt if something happened to one of them, but we will never meet/speak in person and they will never surplant Mrs Duck. Was that a good non-answer answer?

6.Oral Sex/Petting-soooo cheating, though lap dances from strippers on either side arent.

7.Sexual Fantasies-I would have a problem if it was someone I/we knew, just because that can be creepy. Celebrities, as long as its not needed for sex is not cheating

8.Having sex on a break-no not cheating but not the way to rebuild a relationship.

Space Shuffle

The new Friday feature, which sadly I missed last week due to Hilton being a pain with there internet connections, the Friday Ipod Shuffle...

1.Return to Innocence-Enigma (MTV Party to Go 2?)

2.All Out of Love-Air Supply (Air Supply Greatest Hits)

3.I Give all My Love to You-Keith Sweat (Keith Sweat Live)

4.Black Balloon-Goo Goo Dolls (Live in Buffalo)

5.J.A.R.-Green Day (Angus Soundtrack)

6.State of Love & Trust-Pearl Jam (Singles Soundtrack)

7.Living on a Prayer-Bon Jovi (Slippery when Wet)

8.Bartender-Dave Matthews Band (Live at Folsom Field)

9.Stagger Lee-Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes

10.When I look into Your Eyes-Firehouse (Firehouse)

Favorite Song-State of Love and Trust. Its just one of those great songs that builds from the get go. A great Friday, driving home from work on the Turnpike song.

Favorite Album-Singles Soundtrack, by a nose over Bon Jovi. More for its place in history then for anyone singular song on the album. It is what really brought the new grunge sound home to me.

Least Favorite Song-Stagger Lee. If you hear the Lloyd Price version, it shows how much this version really pales in comparison.

Saw in Concert-Bon Jovi, 7/06. One of the top two concerts I have ever seen in my entire life. They played for almost 2 hrs in oppressive heat, and hit every song that you would know and love.

Dont Ask what Air Supply is doing there. I blame Mrs. Duck...

From Playboy model to Coed

As poor ok, poor may not be the right word to describe it, more like unlucky timing in the life ofPaul Lo Duca, the New York Mets catcher and resident chick juggler. First, I do not think there is anything to fear in discussion of his gambling problems, since apparently, he is a horse racing freak, which is not exactly the grouping for people named Tony that break legs. But, how good does this 19 year old have to look if it gets you to stray from a Playboy model who is your wife?? NSFW and mature audiences only, but geez this 19yrs old better be something, though thinking about it...

Joementum

I can not recall the last time I felt this surge of glee over a primary for a Senatorial Candidate in a state I have absolutely no attachment to. But, Joe Lieberman had to go. I know that he is not the only Jewish Representative in Congress, but he sure does seem to make sure that everyone knows he is a Jewish Representative! I have always thought that Senator Lieberman never really fit in with the Democratic Party, now of course, the man won't take his beating and go away. Democrats are just lucky that the Republicans of Connecticut never trot out anyone but a sacrificial lamb, becuase Lieberman as an independant would be better then some Republican Hack. Nice job Ned Lamont

Fly Away Hawk

Was reading the Daily News yesterday and there was a small blurb in there about the purchase and format change to come for 97.5 The Hawk a classic rock station in Mercer County that reaches into Philadelphia proper. Now, I was not a huge fan of the station, I get my classic Rock from 93.3 and 102.9, heck this station is not even in my presets. But, one thing I do hope is that they dont switch formats to another rap/R&B station. One thing we dont need in this city is more 50 Cent and Emimem!

This weeks little known hottie...

Though, she is not as little known as I thought, though if you are reading this in California you may have no idea who Erin O'Hearn is and that is why I feel the need to share this stuff. Though I must say, the choice of pictures is much worse then last weeks choice.

25 Signs that you are no longer in your 20's

1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a twin bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up."
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those effing kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.

20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good chit."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for Email.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh chit, what the hell happened?"

Nothing like recycling our own words

I finally realized one of the things that really ticks me off between the Israelis and the Palestinians/Hezbollah, or is it Hamas? Well whoever it is. They are using the flawed arguement that Bushie used to go into Iraq, to explain there push into Palestine. Now, I agree with defending your borders, but now it seems that the need to push out the "terrorists" has grown into a need to extend Israel's borders. Sometimes, Recycling does not help the planet.

Apt 2024 Random Friday

I thought this was a great idea, so I joined in on the fun, whether they wanted me or not. :P Apt 2024 Random Friday Story Weather

My 10 for the Day

1.Lullabye-Sean Mullins
2.Mr Brightside-The Killers
3.Goodbye Yellow Brick Road-Elton John
4.Cry 4 U-Jodeci
5.Couldve Been-Tiffany
6.Walk On-U2
7.98.3-Itrip Station
8.Take me Home-Phil Collins
9.Everybody wants to Rule the World-Tears for Fears
10.William Tell Overture-Boston Pops

Favorite Song:Walk On-U2. The timing of the song was perfect, and it really helped to build up peoples low emotions after 9/11

Favorite Album:Since the U2 one is a Live Single, it doesnt count, so I would have to say Elton Johns Greatest Hits. Not the best for fashion, but how could you go wrong with any album that contains Daniel.

Seen Live-U2 & the Boston Pops and no not at the same time

Join in if you wish, and skip over to the other blog to see some other lists

The National Review is no Rolling Stone

Heck, I dont even think the National Review is a Spin or Blender. At least with Blender you get hot chicks. Anyway, they put out a list that names some of the 50 songs that Conservatives should love. Sickening and humorous all at the same time. Though, shocking that Metallica made the top 10, the biggest money grubbing rock band in the world.

Before I forget, let me make sure Miss Margo gets her credit for bringing this to my attention at least.

Jordana Leigh

First off, mature audiences only

Secondly, silliness I know, but shes just plain hot!

H.R. an HR Nightmare?

Well, where was I under a rock? I totally missed this until I heard mention of someone from ESPN being let go while listening to the always enterntaining Mike and the Mad Dog, but you would think that someone somewhere on the world leader in Sports would make some sort of comment. Though, they still are owned by Disney, who loves to keep everything internal! But it seems Harold Reynolds might have been a bad boy. Deadspin does a good job of covering or at least digging for some information.

Headbutts are now Fashionable

Whoa! Jockey takes cue from ill-mannered Zidane Seems someone may have been a bit wound up, or maybe too heavy? Though I am more thinking its just a European thing. Or as Mrs Duck tried to explain "Its like you and the cat, you headbutt each other our of affection" Did I mention that Mrs D was a tad sleep deprived?

Devil Wears Prada

So, Friday night was movie night, though with this oppressive heat, I could easily see every night being movie night. Since it we saw Pirates last week, it was Mrs. Duck's turn and we went to see Devil Wears Prada. First off, the movie was much too long, over 2 hours, but that had to be because they stuck close to the book in general and there was not much you could cut. I actually liked the movie more then the book, probably because the Witch boss was not an utter ogre. That was one of my biggest complaints about the book, no one could be this brutal all of the time. At least with the movie, we saw that she had at least a good side at the end. So overall, too long, lots of hot chicks in designer clothes (not that I knew who the hell the designers were) and not that bad a way to spend 2 and a half hours.

Guess you cant delay DeLay, ugh

Texas 06 You Guys Are Just Nuts, OK? - Wonkette

Prenup would have been a better plan

If you are going to go out and do something stupid like kill yourself, please be kind enough to jump off a bridge, or take a mix of pills or something like that. Do not jump in front of a train, or do suicide by cop, and for the love of god, do not blow up your building.

All this accomplished was destroying a bunch of homes around him, got a firefighter injured, and had the east coast on edge about terrorists. Brillant!

Memories of Eric Gregg

This occurred while we were on our honeymoon, so I am getting into this whole thing a little bit late, but Eric Gregg was one of those well known umpires that not even the biggest baseball fan knows.

New Jersey Budget Crisis

This whole budget crisis really has gotten me in a lather. So I did a tad bit of research on the anchor of this whole mess, New Jersey Legislature - Assemblyman Joseph J. Roberts Jr. (D) of Camden and Gloucester county. His whole arguement is two fold, first that south Jersey does not wish to pay for the spending of North Jersey, and that property tax relief is needed. Si, Mr. Roberts is out for the little guy right, stopping the excess of NJ spending. Sounds really very heroic, a Don Quiote of NJ. Oh wait, whats this, a bill he sponsored on June 22, to allow the sales tax to rise from 6% to 7% on certain sales. Here take a look at the bill.Joseph Roberts Bill

so the sales tax can be raised on anything except for, things served with a fork or containing 2 or more ingredients (restaurant lobby), anything sold out of a vending machine (the highly powerful vending machine lobby), any boxing, kickboxing, or some sort of combat with hands (hmm, anyone say Bob Arum or Don King??) and rooms in hotel establishments except for those people living there month to month (the hotel and leisure lobby, ATLANTIC CITY CASINOS!!). So, Mr. Roberts in the end does not give a hoot about the little people, he just wants to be sure that the Steve Wynn's, Donald Trumps, and whoever owns Harrahs of the world be sure that they dont lose any of there billions of dollars.

What a crock. Property Tax in NJ is out of control, yet this man represents Camden and Gloucester County. Not exactly the hot beds of the housing boom. Tell him he's wrong, tell him that we can see through all this, that its a sham, a magic trick performed by George Norcross and the Trumps and Hiltons of the world. Tell him to move on already!

Ive finally figured out Anne Coulter

Besides the fact that she really is just a miserable shrew!

But, my theory is that she gets a question from an interviewer, thinks about what the answer would be for someone on the left wing, or even in the center and says the exact opposite. Though I really do think if she was asked, Do Republicans think the sky is blue, she would answer no its red!

H-Moon Sightings

So, not only was the honeymoon so relaxing I could have felt my spine melt, but it also gave the both of us the opportunity to have a few famous people sightings. I guess when you stay in places that celebrities would want to stay in, it kind of makes sense that it would happen.

In Maui, Horace Grant was poolside, not 5 feet away from where we were lounging. Probably one of the most unassuming people I have ever seen in his interaction with the public. Yes, he was not or is not that famous and NBA star, I mean not since Jordan retired, but still very recognizable. And nice guy as well, just like a regular person. When a kid threw up right outside his cabana, he was the first up to offer the kid a towel to clean up with, even before his mother! Heck of a guy!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

The other one we saw, Mrs D actually spotted first, which was amazing in itself. She is not the most observant person when it comes to some things. Ask me about our engagement sometime. Anyway, sitting in the Lobby Bar of the W Seattle, and guess who comes running through the lobby, taking steps two by two, but none other then It for now Newsman, Anderson Cooper. It was the day he was doing 360 from Seattle, and we were like, I wonder where he is standing. MD almost bolted after him to get an autograph, or to just tell him how much she admires him and his work, but he was a shot and gone. Funny, never thought anyone could move that fast not running from the police.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

not so famous I know, but a heck of alot more famous then Vernon Odom. I think I am going to do a seperate honeymoon blog in the future, what does everyone else think?

Annoucement

Well, Ladies and Germs, we have some not so breaking news to share. Now going forward, FW will be referred to as Mrs Duck, Mrs. D or MD, since for some strange reason I really can not explain, she decided to go through with the wedding and we are now officially hitched! Poor thing LOL

Friday, May 12, 2006

Now this is a one stop shop for sure!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

And the true shocker is that its in Maine, not below the Mason-Dixon line

where to begin or better yet updates galore

1. Have had a second interview for that job I interviewed for over a month ago. I know I am dealing with a big corporate giant, but I think the polar ice caps move faster.

2. FW had her shower a few weekends ago. It was a lovely time for everyone, I think, and we got lots of goodies, though I will say, I believe FW was a bit disappointed at the turnout and some of the things that might have happened leading up to the day.

3. Less then 4 weeks to go, the two of us have not exploded at each other, yet, but we are both very tense with quick trigger fingers. I get the feeling its a good thing im not working, someone might get yelled at.

4. Engagement pics a few weeks ago as well, though still waiting for the final proofs. Though it has been harder to actually find a sign in board for the pics then taking the pictures themselves.

Review #2

Good Night, And Good Luck. Film Site

A good film becuase it stuck to the historical aspects of the movie to begin with. Though filmgoers now would have rather seen a more dramatic fall for McCarthy, thats not historically accurate. Though it did seem to drag a bit, the use of black and white and the jazz music was brillant.

Movie Review #1

Pride and Prejudice

an excellent showing of a classic book. While the best actress category might have been weak this year, I do understand why Keira got the nomination at least. Not only is she beyond gorgeous, heck even FW said that, she really is a very good actress. And there was alot of humor as well, though for the life of me, I can not figure out where I have seen the slutty sister before.

Degrassi Ripoff

Ok first off dont ask me why I am watching this, or better yet, blame the FW, but anyway I am watching one of the Degrassi Next Generations she has taped, or was watching actually the other night and lord all mighty the Take on Me episode is a totally knockoff, or omage to The Breakfast Club.

Look for yourself!

Lost in Lost

Alright I have really been trying with this television program. What can I say, I am one of those linear people who likes things to go from point A to point B, especially when it comes to my television watching. A bad guy does something, gets caught and while he may or may not be punished, we at least know he or she is the bad guy. Your sitcoms with the crazy kid thinking of stealing, and all the wacky fun that ensues!

Now of course theres lost, which is nothing linear at all. Heck, alot of the plot is told in flashbacks for petes sake. But as I have said before, and might be repeating myself again, people like to have at least something resolved. It doesnt have to be the main plot, but goodness one of the satellite off shoot plots that could be giving us information in regards to the Island, it would be nice if they wrapped one of those up at least. Because right now, Im thinking the damn thing is like Supermans Bizzarro world.

Now thats a World Cup!

A tidbit graciously taken from BookBitches, who found it someplace else."'Mr. Switzerland" to entice women during World Cup - Yahoo! News

Question of the Day

Though I am going to save my response to another post but:

What if any is your opinion of porn in a commited relationship? (explanation?? well is it healthy or something that should not be necessary. And I dont mean strippers)

Update and Shift

Yes I know there are probably not that many of you left, but hello fellow reliable readers, here's what I have been up too.

Still Waiting on word from the latest interview I had, though I still think I am at least in good shape, since the HR person calls me once a week to give me an update with what is going on with the position. So that means they at least want me to still be available! So thats good, I think. Just dont want to get my hopes up and be disappointed again.

Nice little screw up on the banking end has a nice chunk of change still floating out there that should be in one of my accounts. A word to the wise, when you have something important to go into your account, do not go to one of those in Supermarket branches, since it seems they do not hire the swiftest of tellers.

With only 6 and a half weeks to go, I do see this blog going from a ranting and raving about the screwed up things of the world, to the stress and keep your fingers crossed, not screwep up things with the planning of a wedding. Along those lines, can anyone give me a good photo program to put pics in this blog?

These Crazy Kids Today

Now, I really have to ask, how did I miss this in college. I was friends with alot of Sorority girls in College, and I dont recall hearing about this at all! Hmm and its a Christian College in Tampa Florida, one of the more conservative corners of the state, Interesting..

a fun meme

Though honestly I have no idea what meme stands for, but I am borrowing this one frome Pax Romano's Ramblings by way of another philly blog-Apt2024

there everyone got credit that needed it!

so read and enjoy...

1: Black and White or Color; how do you prefer your movies?

Color hands down, though I do have some black and white movies on my favorite list, like the Philadelphia Experiment and most Bing Crosby movies, though dont talk to me about colorized movies, bleh

2: What is the one single subject that bores you to near-death?

I would have to say anything math related, beyond balancing my checkbook

3: MP3's, CD's, Tapes or Records: what is your favorite medium for pre-recorded music?

with my Ipod, im now MP3 savvy and love it, though if there is a CD that is a classic (U2 All that you leave behind for example) I buy it for posterity

4: You are handed one first class trip plane ticket to anywhere in the world and ten million dollars cash. All of this is yours provided that you leave and not tell anyone where you are going ever. This includes family, friends, everyone. Would you take the money and ticket and run?

Whats money if your lonely? Heck i feel lonely somedays now and im poor

5: Seriously, what do you consider the world's most pressing issue now?

I try not to think that big, heck the US is screwed up enough, but in Philly with the murder rate what it is, it has to be gun control

6: How would you rectify the world's most pressing issue?

Melt the guns

7: You are given the chance to go back and change one thing in your life; what would that be?

Easy, I would take that opportunity to student teach in Delaware, would have sent me on a whole different path im sure

8: You are given the chance to go back and change one event in world history, what would that be?

Bush Gore

9: A night at the opera, or a night at the Grand Ole Opry. Which do you choose?

Depends on whose singing in each, Pavarotti and Bocelli swing me one way, Clint Black, Tim McGraw or Faith Hill the other...

10: What is the one great unsolved crime of all time you'd like to solve?

The disappearance of that couple from outside of the Abilene in South Philly. Its fresh in my mind because the one year anniversary of there disappearance is yesterday

11: One famous author can come to dinner with you. Who would that be, and what would you serve for the meal?

Right now im a Lyndell Hamilton sucker, and naturally for the author of the Anita Black series, something rare and bloody

12: You discover that John Lennon was right, that there is no hell below us, and above us there is only sky: what's the first immoral thing you might do to celebrate this fact?

Well, i believe in reincarnation, but ive never tried illegal drugs, so maybe try some weed?

Olympics so far

Well, after a little over a week of Olympic competition, all that I think we have accomplished so far is reinforcing the ugly American attitude that people have about us around the world. Shani Davis, Bode Miller and Lindsay Jacobelis(sp?) have all done things that just make themselves and the country they represent look bad. And Johnny Weir, I love ya, but next time, take a taxi!

Ice Dancing seems to go on forever!

Is anyone out there even watching?

When will this soap opera end?

Now its been months since McNabb and T.O. have had anytime together, especially since McNabb disappeared on the team while he was rehabbing his injury, probably spending alot of time in his lovely complex in Scottsdale. But to all of the sudden play the race card when it comes to T.O in reference to Brett Favre, who by the way does actually have a Super Bowl ring, and then say that because he is an african american that other african americans should automatically support him, the soap opera that has become the Philadelphia Eagles will continue. Oh and I guess that means I have to support Bush/Cheney since we are all white. I take back all my previous blogs about how idiotic they are. (rolls eyes)

2 men one woman

Ok I heard about this on WIP today and was a but entrigued, so I looked up and found the article in Philly.com. Though if anyone reads the article and can make some sense of what Carolyns advice was, please fill me in. Anyway heres the article...Philadelphia Inquirer | 01/31/2006 | Tell Me About It | Two men, one woman, hurt feelings

And here is my opinion, though I must admit I am a tad jaded, being that my ex wife left me for an ex boyfriend who she is now married too, and they were always just good friends until my ass was dumped. But, unless it was a preestablished friendship, one that was started before make A came into the picture, like 10 years or something like that, then I think male A should draw a line in the sand and not accept this situtaion as plausible. Since on the other side of the coin, where I have found myself from time to time, Male B is in it for one thing and one thing only, to get Female A to dump Male A so he can slide into her A so to speak. But I am jaded. Any thoughts dear readers?

Everyday Margo: Wet Feet vs. Warm Cat

A post for all of you cat owners out there who apparently are just being allowed to reside where your cat reigns!

Balsamic Chicken

Well, as you probably can tell, the interview did not go off as well as I would have hoped, since there was no whooping of victory or anything like that, but at least I got my big toe out there. Though it would be nice if someone wanted my whole foot.

Rachel Rays Dinner in the Fast Lane was excellent tonight, Balsamic Rosemary Chicken and Raviolis, though I have finally figured out Rachel. She keeps it to 30 minutes by not mentioning anything having to do with cleanup. Smart on her part, since by now she probably has some low level sous chef who can do that now.

Must Love Dogs (2005) was not as bad as I thought it would be. It was John Cusack at his most neurotic, and while I really am not a fan of Diane Lane as an actress, just something about her, she is very very easy on the eyes....

Tension

Well, the world of work is calling me back again. I have another interview, in ohh, about an hour and a half, and I am sitting here sweating and worrying. Great isnt it? I have not been on a real interview in almost 5 years, so I just have to not allow myself to just say, um I dont know how I would handle that. Though really I am being silly, I may walk in and hate the job, or the salary, or realize that what they want me to do is way over my head. Though, as everyone seems to want to say, its good practice. Pardon me while I roll my eyes...

The Party Boat

Well, if you are an NFL professional player one would not think that you would need to fly in prostitutes for a crazy party boat though apparently the authorities in Minneapolis decided differently.

A little Creepy?: Peter Jennings Reporting: 'Breakdown -- America's Health Insurance Crisis'

ABC News: Peter Jennings Reporting: 'Breakdown -- America's Health Insurance Crisis' Well, its good that he had some stuff still in the can to be shown on TV, though when I was flipping thru the channels and saw the ad for this show, I was a little bit thrown off, saying to myself "Peter Jennings?? I thought he was dead?"

Finding Neverland

Ohhh, what a great movie that was. It made it onto my amended last minute Christmas List. Now, who could go wrong with Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet and beautiful words and photography. 3 and 1/2 stars out of 4!!!

Holiday Complaints

-22 degrees at noon??? um now that is much too cold, since I am not living in blasted Alaska!
-Christmas Cards that are pictures of your children. Now if you are blood, that maybe the only picture we get for the year so its nice, but I know FW and I both feel bad throwing pictures out of friends children, yet, we cant keep them forever can we?
-Fruitcake that feels like it could be used in a weight room
-Trying to figure out what to get for people when they do not even give one a list!

Cant you tell how festive I am feeling???

Grey City

Well, the city has this pall cast over it over a football game. Now mind you, this is Philadelphia and we are talking about the Eagles, but it is still something that I, as an outsider, really need to get used too. I am rooting for the Eagles, do not get me wrong, but I am beginning to grow sick and tired of the way the city seems to cover for Donovan McNabb. He seems like he can never do anything wrong, yet he often does. I have been saying for a long time that the secondary of the Eagles is suspect at best. Lito is overrated, and B-Dawg, while a leader and someone that really lays a hit on someone, can not cover a lick anymore. But, this loss falls at McNabb's feet, as many of the losses do. And if I have to seem him come up with some injury when his team has found a way to lose, in an effort to either look tougher or to have some sort of cover story, I am going to spit nails!

Bowl eligible week one

A new weekly list of the teams that as of right now are eligible for the 56 spots that are available for the big bucks that are the craziness of the holiday bowls. For now I am going to list all the teams that have hit the 6 win spot, though eventually I will pull the BCS teams, since they are guaranteed a spot. Someday I am hoping that there will be a time when there will be too many bowls and not enough teams.

Florida State 7-1
Boston College 6-2
Va Tech 8-0
Miami 6-1
Colorado 6-2
Texas 8-0
Texas Tech 7-1
West Va 7-1
Rutgers 6-2
Penn State 8-1
Wisconsin 8-1
Ohio St 6-2
Michigan 6-3
Utep 6-1
TCU 8-1
Toledo 6-2
Ucla 8-0
USC 8-0
Oregon 7-1
Cal 6-2
Georgia 7-1
Florida 6-2
Alabama 8-0
LSU 6-1
Auburn 6-2
Fresno St 6-1
Boise St 6-2

As you can see there are only 27 teams eligible at this moment, so alot of spots still open, though this week will open up more.

a pleasant surprise

So, I was all set to sit down and start a moaning about the DMV of Pennsylvania, because of past experiences in NJ, you just had to know that it was going to be a disaster. Instead, it was an easy trip. They have this ticker system, so you are able to sit there with your book, laptop, ipod, no lines. Then, even though due to the Patriot act you need to pretty much bring your mother along to prove who you are, the actual forms were painless. Plus, you can be made an organ donor and register to vote all in the same stop. Painless, more of a pain to find my social security card and birth certificate then to actually get the license. Bush is skidding

Since the wheels are coming off his presidency. And typical of this administration, lets call our enemies or critics un american for disagreeing with whatever the President says. If all of this does not smack of McCarthyism to you, please do some history research.

NBC10.com - News - Councilman Mariano Safe After City Hall Incident

NBC10.com - News - Councilman Mariano Safe After City Hall Incident well if this is not at least some sort of admission of some guilt I dont know what is. Though, two other thoughts, first, major shock that Philadelphia has more corruption, and second, it was a good plan for the Councilman, hard to be indicted when you are under medical observation. Bravo!

I predicted this

Though honestly I think it could be a major mistake, going into Syria. Well, at one point it probably was not a mistake, it would have worked out alot better if we put the Syrians on real notice after 9/11. Now to go into Syria, whether they truly assasinated the president of Lebanon or not, will just look like the angry Americans going into another muslim country. Plus the Syrians are nothing if not in with the terrorists of the world. Not a good enemy to get with, especially if you are on your own, which the United States surely would be. Hold on for a wild ride...

U2 in Philly

I believe I have found a new god, and they are named Larry, Adam, Edge and Bono.

Saw the boys for the first time ever last night at the Wachovia Center in good ole Philadelphia. It was a near perfect concert. They played everysong I wanted to hear except for Bad, but you cant have anything. The one drawback was the drunk twentysomethings dancing around right in front of us, especially during songs that really arent jump around like an idiot songs. But, that also goes to show that my friends and I are just getting a bit old, because we were 20somethings once too.

Favorite songs:
One
40
Sunday Bloody Sunday
Sometimes you cant Make it on your own

I really want to hear the Miss Sarajevo track sometime with Pavorotti.

Worse songs:
well there really arent any but if I had to pick
Fast Cars

The whole set list-

Soaked

I was just wondering if anyone else thought it might ya know stop raining anytime soon?? I think its been wet or grey for the last 7 days here, its bordering on getting just a bit ridiculous.

A line of the week from last week that I did not get to. Or at least a paraphrase from John Stewart on the Late Show with David Letterman. "Tom Delay's face says bring it on, his body language says I am innocent, and his hair says What do I have to do to put you in this Cutlass today?" And it looks like Tom Frist might get Martha'd!

Sometimes it doesnt work out right

My Helena-My Chemical Romance

Long ago
Just like the hearse, you die to get in again
We are so far from you

Burning on, just like a match you strike to incinerate
The lives of everyone you know
And what’s the worst you take (worst you take)
From every heart you break (heart you break)
And like a blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well, I've been holding on tonight

[chorus]
What’s the worst that I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Came a time
When every star fall
Brought you to tears again
We are the very hurt you sold
And what’s the worst you take (worst you take)
From every heart you break (heart you break)
And like the blade you stain (blade you stain)
Well, I've been holding on tonight

[chorus]
What’s the worst that I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Well, if you carry on this way
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Can you hear me
Are you near me
Can we pretend
To leave and then
We'll meet again, when both our cars collide

[chorus]
What’s the worst that I could say?
Things are better if I stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Well, if you carry out this way
Things are better if i stay
So long and goodnight
So long not goodnight

Idle Thoughts

1. You know your cat has been rolling around in your sheets and getting her scent into it when she comes down stairs and smells like Downy.

2. I am getting old because Judge Judy has actually been around for 10 years, and the people keep getting dumber and dumber.

3. Jamie Foxx can actually sing! And Kanye West may have been right.

4. It is amazing when we are looking for cheap gas prices and the idea of cheap is $2.95
