Reliving the Pumpkins

There were two bands that affected my youth. Well, really 3, since Love Seed was my favorite Delaware drunk band. But, for speaking the message of dispair and angst, it was Pearl Jam and Smashing Pumpkins.

The Pumpkins get top billing tonight, tonight

Sorry, but as soon as you said Pearl Jam, all I could think of was cousin Jane screaming, "Eddie Vedder RUUUUUUULZ!" She's still known by that catch phrase 15 years after uttering that.

Siamese Dream is one of the best albums ever. Ever.

Listen closely and you'll find that the drums are the lead instrument. How many times does that happen?

I have loved SP for over 15 years. Disarm is in my top 5 songs of all time. I saw SP live, in 2000. I was in the mosh pit, and only a few feet away from Billy. It was one of the best nights of my life. :-)

I saw Billy Pumpkin waay back in 91before they became huge. And coincidentally enough I just ordered 10 and Vs to replace my old copies!

I found your site through Layla's. I'm in Philly as well..was fortunate enough to see the Pumpkins 2x at their Fillmore residency in SF in 2007..We lived there at the time and having seen shows at the Fillmore often I knew I was in for a treat...Truly sensational! I also saw them at a small club in Atlanta (where they recorded SD)in 1992....thanks seano
