Fun Poetry Train

Usually, I take this little opportunity of a post to be serious, or maudlin, or emotional when it comes to posting lyrics to songs. OK, feel free to admit that sometimes you think it is down right depressing! Well not today, for on today's poetry train, we are going to get funky!

Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Does that make me crazy
Possibly
Probably

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to Lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Possibly

Ok, the song is old, but to me its still hip and it still makes me wanna shake my tailfeathers!

Go see what else is shaking over on this weeks Poetry Train

I love this song and the video is awesome. Love the opening lines;
'I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space'

Creative people all go to this place on a regular basis. It's the only way to create!

It is funny, I just talk about this song like an hour ago with one of my friend, but I didn't know it was that song!!
I really like the link between the ink spot and the crazyness!!(And it is not that old!!)

I don't know why song lyrics tend to be the best poetry, but I think that they do. I always have to hear how the words are applied to the musical notes and it is always surprising.
Thanks for the post.

My 3 year old loves this song. LOVES. He breaks out into "who do you, who do you, who do you think you are..."
Very cute.
'Course, he's got his mother's excellent taste in music.
