Wiki better watch out

The new FiOS is awesome. When they say ride the light, they really mean it. I still have not gotten the power cord situation resolved, but that is more of a monetary problem then a finding the cord that works for the laptop problem. But, if you can get your hands, or at least your USB plug on FiOS, go out and do it. And, it is actually cheaper with the combination of the unlimited calling program then it cost for DSL.

OK, Verizon commercial over. One problem with the new internets is that you can find a lot more things that can tick you off. Now, I will not take the credit for being turned onto Conservapedia, Lewis Black has to get the credit. But, when you dig deep into the site, it actually is a tad scary! Ok, more then a tad. Let's compare some definitions with Wikipedia.

Homosexuality:
Wikipedia=Homosexuality can refer to both sexual behavior and sexual attraction between people of the same gender or to a sexual orientation. When describing a sexual orientation, it refers to enduring sexual and romantic attraction toward others of the same sex, but does not necessarily involve sexual behavior.

Conservapedia=Homosexuality is an immoral sexual lifestyle between members of the same sex. It is more than simply a sexual act, it is going beyond the boundaries that God has setup for marriage; one man and one woman.

Planned Parenthood:
Wiki=Planned Parenthood is the collective name of organizations worldwide who are members of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF). The Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is the U.S. affiliate of IPPF, and one of its larger members. PPFA provides both reproductive health and maternal and child health services. The organization's status as the United States' leading provider of surgical abortions has put it in the forefront of the US national debate over that issue.

Conserva=Planned Parenthood (officially the Planned Parenthood Federation of America) is the largest organization in the United States that performs abortions, provides birth control[1] and a limited amount of health care. Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the United States.[2] It performs nearly 200 times as many abortions are referrals for adoption.

Evolution:
Wiki=Evolution is change in populations of organisms over generations. Offspring differ from their parents in various ways. When these differences are helpful, the offspring have a greater chance of surviving and reproducing, making the differences more common in the next generation. In this way, differences can accumulate over time, leading to major changes in a population.

Conserva=The theory of evolution is a naturalistic explanation of the history of life on earth (This refers to the theory of evolution which employs methodological naturalism and is commonly taught in public schools and universities). The concept of materialistic evolution differs from the concept of Theistic Evolution in positing that God does not guide the theorized process of macroevolution[1] A majority of the most prominent and vocal defenders of the naturalistic evolutionary position since World War II have been atheists.

Baseball:
Wiki=Baseball is a sport played between two teams usually of nine players each. It is a bat-and-ball game in which a pitcher throws (pitches) a hard, fist-sized, leather-covered ball toward a batter on the opposing team. The batter attempts to hit the baseball with a tapered cylindrical bat, made of wood (as required in professional baseball) or a variety of other materials (as allowed in many nonprofessional games). A team scores runs only when batting, by advancing its players—primarily via hits—counterclockwise past a series of four markers called bases arranged at the corners of a ninety-foot square, or "diamond." The game, played without time restriction, is structured around nine segments called innings. In each inning, both teams are given the opportunity to bat and score runs; a team's half-inning ends when three outs are recorded against that team.

Conserva=Baseball, known as rounders in England where it originated, is a game consisting of nine active players on each team (except for those teams having designated hitters) who take turns playing defense on the field and batting one at a time. The object is for the batters to hit a ball thrown by the pitcher into "fair" territory such that it is not caught in the air and gives the batter time to run to a base. The offense strives to advance these baserunners until they circle the three infield bases in order and get to the fourth base, called "home". This results in the scoring of a run. Failing to reach a base during their batting attempt results in an out, and the offense is only allowed three outs before they must take the field once again. Each team is allowed nine of these "innings" during the course of the game, an exception being that a team does not bat a ninth time if they are winning after the other teams ninth attempt. If the game is tied after nine innings, additional innings are played until there is a winner.

Hey they sorta agree!! Or maybe not.

Rock the Vote:
Wiki=Rock the Vote is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in Los Angeles in 1990 by Jeff Ayeroff for the purposes of political advocacy. The first Rock the Vote campaign was called, "Censorship is UnAmerican." The Canadian version of Rock the Vote was founded by Nat zeke Zavier in 1981, while the Irish version of Rock the Vote was founded by Patrick Cosgrove in 2006, and was active during the 2007 Irish elections.

Conserva=Rock the Vote is a controversial left-wing organization, founded in 1990 in what the group claims was "a response to a wave of attacks on freedom of speech and artistic expression." They were once affiliated with the MTV network.

Well, I guess we can all agree on sports.

Scary doesn't describe it! It looks like as bigoted a load of drivel as I have seen for along time!

My 2 cents:

Those conservative definitions are kinda off & I'm pretty far to the right. In my opinion it's an exaggerated view to make all conservatives look like "right wing nuts." I wonder what the Liberal dictionary would say, too...

Happy Friday :-)

Oh my! Although I'm not surprised such a thing exists.

Living in Kansas, those actually seem a little mild. No one was damned to hell in those entries. I've talked to many a wing-nut, face to face, and scary doesn't even begin to describe it.
