Im Like Mickelson
Ok, maybe I am not like Mickelson, since he went to college on a golf scholarship in Arizona and has won millions upon millions of dollars. Sparky on the other hand had to pay to go Delaware and is still buying powerball tickets. Yes, the title is an overstatement.
Yet for one brief moment, Phil and I were alike. Mickelson hit a 9 on a hole on the back nine, which was a quadruple bogey I think. I hit 9's all the time!! Phil and I are simpatico. Just remind me not to compare bank books.
As of 7:30, it was still Rocco Mediate, though Tiger and Davis Love III were in the US Open hunt.

Phil rarely fails to disappoint me.
Meanwhile, Mediate and the others are like the antelope in those nature shows that is being chased around by the giant leopard or other cat (or Tiger). They run around in little circles, hoping to elude the cat, but the cat is too fast and skilled to do anything but catch them and eat them. Sometimes, the cat toys with his prey before he finally pounces and eats them for lunch.
That's today's golf analogy.
I personally loved the chip shots that kept rolling back, been there done that...
But I gotta tell you, I had a Tiger moment on Friday, I birdied a par 4 from 70 yards out. It was lovely.
Am enjoying the Open, I hope Tiger can stay focused. ( a double bogey to start??? He is human!)
I'm with Twain. Golf ruins a good walk!
