Man I am glad I did not even bother watching Delaware tonight. I kind of knew it would be bad. Though I must say, security in Chattanooga, not doing a bang up job tonight. The whole town of Boone is on both sidelines. Not the best plan...
I realize in my case (a UCF alumnus and fan) my school is NOT in a prime conference.
When the ACC expansion drew from the Big East, several teams had a chance to move up from the MAC and C*USA. South Florida moved from the CUSA to the Big East, allowing UCF to move from the MAC to C*USA.
With a top tier coach like George O'Leary and a growing program, my hope is that someday UCF could get into the ACC or Big East, where they could be competitive. Perhaps then the nation's #1 RB would get Heisman attention.
As it is, UCF won the C*USA championship this year. That got them an automatic spot in the Liberty Bowl. The set-up has the LIberty Bowl mathing with a bowl eligible team from the SEC. I should take consulation in this that we are going to play an SEC team, and if we win, we'll have a piece of an argument for our being in a better conference. I just have to get past the fact that the SEC team we play finished 4th in the Western Division, wow, 4th of 6. :)
It was fugly dude...
ReplyDeleteHoly Crap!! I forgot all about the game. I'll have to catch the highlights and lowlights. Cheers!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think they are quite used to the level of interest the ESPNing of App St. has brought them.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you this: App St. could have made a bowl playing Michigan's schedule this year. They are good.
Bond-it was bad
ReplyDeleteMatt-If you were a Blue Hen fan, it was lowlights
Hype-You are very right, App State definetly could have gone 7-4 or 8-3 in 1-A football. Though I wonder what two teams in 1-AA beat them.

What a novel idea. A playoff, wherein the winner is the National Champion. Who'd-a thunk?
