All Rapped Up on the Poetry Train

As always, the Poetry Train runs through alot of different places on a Monday. But, they are all fun places. The lyrics of this song, Where'd Ya Go, by Fort Minor are very powerful. But, the video makes even more of a strong statement when you pair it with the words and the music. Sometimes rap music can say a lot more then yo bitch.

Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever
that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever
that you've been gone
Please
Come back home
(Intro:)
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like its been forever
That you've been gone
(Verse 1:)
She said some days I feel like shit
Some days I want to quit
And just be normal for a bit
I don't understand why you have to always be gone
I get along but your trips always feel so long and
I find myself trying to stay by the phone
Because your voice always helps me to not feel so alone
But I feel like an idiot: working my day around a call
But when I pick up I don't have much to say so,
I want you to know it's a little f**ked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debating
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing
Where'd you go.
(Chorus)
(Verse 1:)
Come back home

You know, the place where you used to live
Used to barbeque up burgers and ribs
Used to have a little party every Halloween
with candy by the pile but now
you only stop by every once in a while
Shit
I find myself just filling my time
With anything to keep the thought of you from my mind
I'm doing fine
And I'm planning to keep it that way
You can call me if you find that you have something to say
And I'll tell you
I want you to know it's a little f**ked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, at times debating
Telling you that I've had it with you and your career
Me and the rest of the family here singing
(Chorus)
(Verse 3:)
I want you to know it's a little f**ked up that
I'm stuck here waiting, no longer debating
Tired of sitting and hating and making these excuses
For why you're not around, and feeling so useless
It seems one thing has been true all along
You don't really know what you've got till it's gone
I guess I've had it with you and your career
When you come back I won't be here and you can sing it

Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever that you've been gone
Where'd you go?
I miss you so
Seems like it's been forever that you've been gone
Please come back home[x5]

  1. I love this song, and the lyrics really hit me the first time I heard it. That's something I always like about Linkin Park too.

Nice repeating line that moves the story along. Thanks for posting these lyrics, Sparky.

  8. I love this song.

See that's why I like Eminem and Linkin Park and people think I'm weird but the words are very powerful in rap music.

    Great choice!

  11. ANother song that hits me hard lately, is Pinks new song Who knew, the video rocks too

    You took my hand
    You showed me how
You promised me you'd be around
    Uh huh
    That's right
    I took your words
    And I believed
    In everything
    You said to me
    Yeah huh
    That's right

If someone said three years from now
    You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them up
    Cause they're all wrong
    I know better
    Cause you said forever
    And ever
    Who knew

Remember when we were such fools
And so convinced and just too cool
    Oh no
    No no
I wish I could touch you again
I wish I could still call you friend
    I'd give anything

When someone said count your blessings now
    For they're long gone
    I guess I just didn't know how
    I was all wrong
    They knew better
    Still you said forever
    And ever
    Who knew

    Yeah yeah
I'll keep you locked in my head
    Until we meet again
    Until we
    Until we meet again
And I won't forget you my friend
    What happened

If someone said three years from now
    You'd be long gone
I'd stand up and punch them out
    Cause they're all wrong and
    That last kiss
    I'll cherish
    Until we meet again
    And time makes
    It harder
    I wish I could remember
    But I keep
    Your memory
You visit me in my sleep
    My darling
    Who knew
    My darling
    My darling
    Who knew
    My darling
    I miss you
    My darling
    Who knew
    Who knew

Some days I want to quit
And just be normal for a bit"

Yes we can.
